Assistant StoreKeeper

Job Summary

The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting daily store operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory records. This role ensures proper stock control, cleanliness of the store, and timely support to operations while complying with company procedures and safety requirements.

Job Responsibilities

-Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery orders and invoices.

-Arrange, label, and store items properly according to stock location and FIFO practices.

I-ssue materials, tools, or spare parts based on approved requisitions or job requests.

-Maintain accurate stock records, including stock cards, system entries, and physical counts.

-Perform regular stock checks and report discrepancies, damages, or shortages.

-Support stock replenishment activities and assist in stock take exercises.

-Ensure store cleanliness, proper housekeeping, and safe storage practices.

-Follow safety procedures when handling materials and operating basic handling equipment.

-Coordinate with purchasing, maintenance, or production teams for material requirements.

-Perform any other duties assigned by the Storekeeper or Supervisor.


Job Requirements

-Minimum SPM / SPMV / Certificate or equivalent qualification.

-Prior experience as a Store Assistant, Storekeeper, or warehouse staff is an advantage.

-Basic knowledge of inventory control and stock handling practices.

-Able to read and understand delivery orders, stock records, and basic documentation.

-Familiar with FIFO concept and basic store safety practices.

-Physically fit and able to handle manual work when required.

-Basic computer skills (Excel or inventory system) are an added advantage.

-Good teamwork, responsible attitude, and willingness to learn.

-Able to drive forklift is an advantage
