MANAGER, GROUP LEGAL

Job Summary

Responsible for managing the Group’s legal affairs with a primary focus on litigation, dispute resolution, debt recovery, and contractual matters. This role provides strategic legal advice to management on commercial, corporate, construction, and project-related issues, including contract negotiation, risk management, and dispute resolution. The incumbent oversees external legal counsel, maintains legal documentation and precedents, conducts legal research and training, and ensures the Group’s interests are protected while supporting compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the Group’s litigation, dispute resolution and recovery matters, including engagement with external counsel and reporting to management.
  • Draft, review, negotiate and advise on corporate, commercial and construction and project-related agreements and documents.
  • Advise on contractual claims, disputes, legal risks and settlement strategies affecting the Group.
  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of contract templates, legal precedents and litigation records.
  • Conduct legal research, provide legal training and support management on legal and regulatory matters.
  • Perform any other duties as and when assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Called to the Malaysian Bar
  • Minimum 7 years PQE in legal practice and/or in-house roles.
  • Strong experience in litigation, dispute management, commercial contracts and project/construction matters.
  • Strong legal judgment, commercial acumen and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
