Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary
-Plan, execute, and supervise mechanical engineering and maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance for plant equipment, including pumps, valves, piping systems, and rotating machinery, in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead mechanical engineering activities such as installation, troubleshooting, improvement, and maintenance of production and utility systems to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Oversee mechanical work orders, asset management, and maintenance planning using CMMS, including root cause analysis, spare parts control, and maintenance reporting.
- Provide technical leadership in mechanical design reviews, equipment selection, maintenance strategy development, and contractor management to support long-term plant reliability and cost efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- To develop and establish maintenance plans, including resources, system, strategy, and timeline.
- Establish and maintain records for Preventive Maintenance programmes.
- To execute and monitor project plans according to the timeline.
- Supervise and guide the maintenance team in their day-to-day activities.
- To ensure the maintenance team acquires technical skills so that maintenance jobs are carried out according to the best practice standard.
- To oversee & attend to daily machine breakdowns and take necessary actions when required.
- Other duties assigned from time to time.
- Able to attend ad hoc breakdown
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance as a mechanical engineer.
- Strong technical knowledge, analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Understand machinery principles (e.g., Hydraulic machines, Ball mill, agitator, pumps, etc.).
- Hands-on and able to lead by example.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
