PLANNING MANAGER
Job Summary
The Planning Manager is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely completion within budget and quality standards. This role involves coordinating with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to align schedules, resources, and priorities, as well as identifying potential delays and implementing mitigation measures. The Planning Manager plays a key role in optimizing work sequences, improving productivity, and supporting management in decision-making through accurate progress tracking and reporting.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain project master schedules in line with contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure schedule alignment.
- Monitor and update progress regularly, identifying variances and taking corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed work programs, manpower histograms, and resource allocation plans.
- Analyze schedule delays, disruptions, and potential risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and critical paths to ensure timely completion.
- Provide regular progress reports, schedule forecasts, and performance analyses to management.
- Ensure planning and scheduling activities comply with contractual obligations and company policies.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Support tendering teams by preparing preliminary schedules, timelines, and resource plans.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in project planning within the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficient in planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- In-depth understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and contractual requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with local regulations, safety standards, and quality management systems.
